PROLAM's two major hardwood suppliers are certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), a fully independent organization dedicated to promoting sustainable forest management. This means a significant portion of PROLAM's floors use SFI-certified hardwood. Approximately 3,000 floors can be produced annually with 100% SFI-certified wood—making PROLAM the only flooring company to offer this environmentally responsible option.
The SFI certification standard is based on principles that promote sustainable forest management, including measures to protect water quality, biodiversity, wildlife habitat, species at risk, and forests of exceptional conservation value. With more than 152 million acres certified across North America, the SFI standard is one of the largest in the world.
When you buy a PROLAM product, you are buying a wood product from a rigorously certified source. For more information, visit the official site.
