Total quality is the constant goal at Prolam. Everything, absolutely everything, is oriented towards developing and maintaining the superior quality of our product. And backing up this total quality is the savoir-faire of a very special team.

Prolam's entire philosophy is dependent on the constant development and maintenance of know-how at every level: innovation, production, and the quality control of both products and the manufacturing process.

__________

Each member of the team has been tested on the fly for his ability to innovate.
__________

In order to build on our know-how, each specialized team undergoes continuous advanced training and constantly researches new technologies that may lead to improving the quality of Prolam trailer floors.
__________

Prolam is particularly proud of its team. The culture of innovation and know-how of our 200 employees sets the standard for the industry. In fact, the superior quality of Prolam Maple floors has rocked the industry to such an extent that some of our competitors have gone so far as to publish misleading half-truths about the mechanical and physical properties of the Maple species.

Know-how is the main factor in our manufacturing process. Where most manufacturers are content to simply glue the wood components together, Prolam has developed a unique technology which takes the physical and mechanical characteristics of the material into account during the manufacturing process. That's one of the secrets behind Prolam's superior quality!

At Prolam, we insist! While the choice of material used remains a factor of major importance, it is above all a matter of applied knowledge at every step of the production process that allows us to offer a floor of superior quality. The fact that Prolam has not had a single claim since its foundation is the obvious proof. Maple or not, Prolam's growing market share also demonstrates the progressive opening of the market to new, innovative, well-proved techniques.

Perfect Wood Preparation
Prolam quality starts at the source: wood. No compromise! Prolam obtains its hardwood from the best suppliers in North America. The wood first undergoes an initial selection process and is then stored in the open air for a period of three months, during which the humidity index goes naturally from 60% to 30%. The raw material is then treated in Prolam's ultra-modern dryers, which brings the moisture content progressively down to 7-9%.

Strict Selection of Material

Prolam doesn't skimp when it comes to the quality of the wood we use for your trailer floor. We only select wood members that are free of imperfections, so as to avoid any structural weakness and minimize the number of joints per square foot. You can rest assured your floor will be rock solid.

Gluing
At Prolam, we believe the gluing process is just as important as the wood itself. Prolam has developed proprietary gluing technology that allows all the components to be treated with a single, well documented, meticulously controlled process.

No other trailer floor undergoes harsher, more uniform quality control testing before being released to the market. That's why we can say that every floor we deliver will easily surpass the standards of the industry.

Our strict quality control touches every aspect of management and production:
  • Quality
  • Surgical precision
  • Reliability
  • Uniformity
  • Conditions
  • Tests

Nothing is left to chance... Everything is controlled, everything is documented.

Frequent Tests
Floor samples are regularly pulled from the production line to be submitted to a full battery of strictly controlled tests: gluing, strength, joints, breaking stress, etc. As a matter of course, every order we fill will have been sampled for the purposes of these quality control tests.

If one of the many tests indicates a result lower than allowed by Prolam's quality standards, the appropriate corrective action is immediately performed on the production line and documented: zero tolerance.

More Than 125 Trailer Floors Dedicated to Quality Control
The Philosophy of control is simple: the more often our many control tests are performed, the better the quality of the final product. That's why every year Prolam dedicates the equivalent of 125 trailer floors to the quality control process. No other manufacturer sacrifices as much in terms of energy, resources, raw materials, or final products to quality control.

Results Verified and Re-verified
The vigor with which Prolam undertakes the quality control process could not possibly be more serious or scientific. In order to maintain this integrity, Prolam compiles the results and methodology of all tests. Every year, a recognized independent testing laboratory validates the testing process and its results.

If Prolam is able to offer quality superior to that of the competition, it is partly because our know-how is supported by equipment that is constantly updated to stay at the leading edge of technology.

Investments of several million dollars have allowed the modernization of the factory and an optimization of all production procedures. Additional funds are regularly invested in order to maintain the level of innovation which leads to Prolam standards being so much higher than the standards of the industry. The constant improvement of our knowledge makes us the reference by which the rest of the industry is measured.

Prolam is completely committed to its customers.

Our service commitment to you ensures that every floor will meet your expectations, your needs, and be delivered on time. Prolam guarantees it.

Prolam is ready to do everything necessary to satisfy you. Whether that means last minute modifications or any other special request, you can count on the complete cooperation of the entire Prolam team.
